As part of our program, LYNX supports talents, and within our long-term partnership with the Faculty of Economics of TUKE, we awarded a student - Ing. Simona Šimovičová for the diploma thesis Trade linkages between USA and Mexico. The award was as well given to Mrs. Ing. Ľudmila Bartóková, Ph.D. namely the price of the trainer. The thesis takes our attention not only with its interesting and current topic, but especially with the sophistication of its the practical part.

 

 

Diploma thesis analyses USA and Mexico foreign trade structure development, emphasising clarification of their bilateral trading relations. The reference period is between years 1990 - 2019. The objective of this thesis is to identify determinants of USA and Mexico foreign trade with application of gravity model. The econometric model analyses both imports and exports between both countries, using independent variables such as: GDP per capita, distance, border, common language, NAFTA membership and period of financial crisis.

 

 

From our point of view, it was a top-notch thesis and we want to congratulate Simona once again on her successful diploma thesis, as well as to the trainer for her excellent mentoring.
