Last week, eHealth was awarded as the Best Digitalization Project of Slovakia at the ITAPA 2019. The prize went to the National Health Information Center, as well as the supply companies: LYNX, Asseco Central Europe, Beset, LeikTec and NESS Slovensko. 

Mr. Emil Fitoš, President of the IT Association of Slovakia, wrote in his blog for eTrend that eHealth was under pressure from the public and media from the beginning. He also mentions that similar problems cannot be avoided in project like this.

However, after two years, he evaluates the system positively. He claims that doctors and hospitals are using eHealth and the system delivered what is expected of it. In his article, Mr. Fitoš compares Slovakian system with other countries with a similar health structure. Main leaders in the health sector include Portugal, Finland and Croatia. Slovakia currently uses a similar health system as Denmark. 

Finally, there is mentioned a fact that eHealth is the largest Slovak IT project so far. It's a massive system with lots of data that will probably need a cloud solution in the future. At the same time, this is one of the typical examples that if the project is going to be successful, it is necessary to plan not only the information system itself, but also many other factors.
